Abstract

This article analyzes the feasibility of using Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA) to remotely survey meteorological conditions through image capture and transmission. The hypothesis raised is that obtaining local meteorological information through an RPA can be done quickly, accurately, safely, and allow for greater situational awareness of the Squadron. To achieve this result, field research was carried out to obtain the necessary images to judge the atmospheric conditions, by overflights of the traffic region of the 2nd Air Instruction Squadron, and, after obtaining the study material, a comparison between the methods used. Finally, the applicability of the project in a real situation of daily employment was raised, which proved to be favorable, with some suggestions to further improve this practice and make it more and more efficient.
