Geopolitical aspects of the Indian Ocean strand

Abstract

Our geopolitical analysis made constant incursions above the Equator, due to the peculiarities of the area that we had to focus on. In the Indian Ocean, there are manifestations of power of a local character and projections of power of the superpowers and great powers. In spite of the attempts to declare it a "Zone of Peace", the truth is that the Indian Ocean today presents itself as a potential "Conflict Zone", judging by the strategic moves that are developed there, either by the superpowers or by the initiative of the local States. It is possible that the instability of the geopolitical framework of the Indian Ocean, which affects us so much, is an awakening for our redemption since, as Dr. Rotstein states, "no country can be independent when its heart beats in the Persian Gulf."
