This article discusses the importance of Military Memory and History, highlighting how the preservation of Cultural Heritage and reflection on the past can contribute to the formation of military identity. Topics such as moral and intellectual development, the appreciation of Military History in academia, the need to disseminate the study of Military History among civilians and military personnel, and the importance of formal and non-formal History teaching are covered. Furthermore, benefits of studying History are presented, such as identity, understanding others, understanding transformations over time, among others. (Summary prepared by the editorial team)
